In 1963, Nazha & Darwish – originally Nazha Freight Services. Ltd. – Damascus. It was the first air cargo agent to be established in Syria at a time when the airfreight industry was still in its early days and handled air- import and export consolidations. It was not long before Nazha & Darwish was awarded IATA and FIATA membership. Some years later, in the 80’s, clients began to look for additional services such as warehousing and distribution. Always aiming to deliver improved services and enhance customer satisfaction, Nazha & Darwish began to acquire warehouse space. Nazha & Darwish extended its activities to cover not only warehousing but packing and removals as well. In1990, it became the first cargo agent to open an office at Damascus International Airport’s cargo terminal. More recent development has seen Nazha & Darwish’s activities expand into the arena of Fairs & Exhibitions, including the handling of local and foreign exhibitions related to a range of industries. Further it was recognized by several associations and is now a member of FIDI (International Federation of International Furniture Removers), HHGFAA (Household Goods Forwarders Association of America Inc.), BAR (the British Association of Removers), AMSA (American Moving & Storage Association), LACMA (Latin American and Caribbean Movers Association) and IELA (International Exhibitor Logistics Associates).
